alexia (she/her/hers), Hampton university Class of 2020
Alexia is passionate about fostering progressive change in all spaces. Her roots are grounded in Boys & Girls Clubs which led her to being named the 2016-17 Northeast Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. She studied Political Science & Pre- Law at the illustrious Hampton University. A member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre- Law Fraternity International, Alexia is continuing to exercise her passion for speaking, advocating, and creating genuine change. Her Junior year of college, Alexia began interning for the US Department of State working on a cultural diplomacy project in Eritrea. Then in 2019, she was named a REAL Change Fellow and began doing advocacy work to combat global poverty. Still passionate about progressive change, Alexia put her organizing skills to the ultimate test as a Digital Communications Associate at NextGen America where she helped build and facilitate a first of its kind Social Media Influencer Voter Education and Engagement Program. Alexia is now fighting for full gender equity for ALL who identify as women with The United State of Women and continuing to pursue a career as a socio- political game changer. LinkedIn, IG
Christyna (she/her/hers), miami university, class of 2020
Christyna is an aspiring attorney and current Vice President of the Southwest Ohio Young Black Democrats. An alumna of Miami University, Christyna pursued studies in Political Science and Criminology, graduating as a published researcher and SWEL scholar. Having served in multiple judicial and government offices throughout the course of her undergraduate and postgraduate years, Christyna delivers quality through teamwork. A community leader with strong dedication, the Cincinnati native engages heavily in volunteering, recently leading a successful judicial campaign in a competitive district. To this day, she continues in mentorship of Miami University’s National Black Law Student Association Pre-Law Chapter. LinkedIn, IG
jessica (she/her/hers), bethel university, class of 2020
.Jessica is a native of Clinton, MD, and a recent honors graduate of Bethel University in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a minor in Journalism. Her interests are in immigration policy, human rights, racial equity, as well as poverty and economic inequality. Previously, she has completed legislative internships at the Minnesota Department of Human Rights and Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. As a former research intern at Voice for Refuge Action Fund, she has helped advance pro-refugee policies at the national, state, and local level and support the election of immigrants and refugees to political offices. Most recently, Jessica served as a Walmart Congressional Fellow with Running Start where she interned for Ohio State Rep. Stephanie Howse, deepening her passion for political leadership and community development. She is currently completing an internship with the Government Affairs department at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities in Washington D.C. As part of the Impact of a Vote Community Team, Jessica is excited to work towards the goal of making opportunities in public service more accessible for Black students. LinkedIn, IG
